Alle 14.30, ora italiana, sono uscite le nominations per la 84 esima edizione degli Oscar. Pioggia di candidature per Scorsese e The Artist.
La cerimonia verrà celebrata come ogni anno al celebre Kodak Theatre di Los Angeles il 26 febbraio 2012. A presentare la serata sarà l’attore comico Billy Crystal. Nomination piuttosto scontate che rispecchiano molto quelle dei Golden Globes. Hugo Cabret di Martin Scorsese conduce la classifica dei più nominati con 11 candidature, seguito subito a ruota da The Artist, che se ne aggiudica 10.
L’accademy snobba Shame e J. Edgar. Michael Fassbender, coppa Volpi a Venezia, non compare tra la lista di migliore attore. Altra assenza importante è anche quella di Melancholia di Lars Von Trier.
Un po’ di curiosità. Meryl Streep consolida il record di maggior nomination per un attore (14 come protagonista e 3 come non protagonista). Woody Allen guida la classifica degli sceneggiatori con 15 candidature e John Williams arriva a 42 candidature come migliore colonna sonora. Tra gli italiani troviamo i soliti Dante Ferretti e Francesca Lo Schiavo scenografi di Hugo Cabret e Enrico Casarosa che ha diretto il corto animato Pixar La Luna.
